Prepare Your Computer
Please take a few moments to install the Arduino software to the laptop you are bringing with you to the workshop. Having this installed beforehand will give us all more time to dig into the subject matter. The software can be found at: https://www.arduino.cc/en/Main/Software. The version you want is 1.6.12. It will be at the top of the page like this:
Along with the Arduino software you will need to install the FTDI drivers on your computer. Sparkfun has a great set of instructions at: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/how-to-install-ftdi-drivers/windows—quick-and-easy. Again, these may require admin privileges. If so, please have your IT department help you with the installation.
